THE GROWING DOME IS HERE!
Last week many of you watched our Growing Spaces Dome
being built where the playground used to be.  This week we start working on the inside!
Thanks to the efforts of the Beaupre Family and Grants from Lowe's, Hannaford and other local organizations, this Dome, the Mary Nash Beaupre Greenhouse, will be open for business by October 2017!
Agricultural Supervisor Mike Owens will oversee the youth's management of the planting, harvesting and eventual consumption of the produce that will be used to feed our youth in the Kids' Kitchen and fill the Weekend Meals Backpacks!

MEET OUR NEWEST STAFF MEMBERS

 
Kurt Mathies
Camp Tracy and
Trips & Tours Manager
Kurt comes to us with over 25 years experience in the Parks and Recreation industry.  With experience as a coach, lifeguard, waterfront director, and parks & recreation director, his skills and professionalism, and his love of history and art Kurt is perfectly suited to direct our American Heritage Tours, Camp Tracy, and New England Sports Camps.
 
Kurt studied physical education at the University of Maine in Presque Isle and lives in Hampden with his two sons, Cameron and Jason. 
 
Zane Brannon
Aquatics Manager

 

Zane has worked for the YMCA for the past five years teaching lifeguard courses, water aerobics classes, swim lessons and  Coaching Swim Teams.
Zane has traveled the world and seen many sights, but he always returns to his true passions of teaching life-guarding and water safety, and playing soccer.  We are lucky to have him join the AYC family!

MEET & GREET WITH LEE SMITH at 
THE PROPER PIG!
Join us at The Proper Pig tomorrow night from 5-8pm for Free Raffle Giveaways and the chance to meet and greet MLB All Star Pitcher for the Red Sox and Cubs, Lee Smith!
