January at the Museum

Hello friends,

Happy New Year! We hope that your holiday season found moments of rest and connection.

As we kick off the new year, we are so excited for what 2022 will bring. We've spent so many years planning, designing, and prepping and now we are positioned for a final push before we are ready to open. 2022 is a big year for us!

In the meantime, we are dreaming up all of the fun programs we want to do with the community, starting off with the launch of our second session of after-school programs.

We hope this season has you feeling inspired. We certainly are!

Yours in discovery,

Amarinda Keys
Children's Discovery Museum Executive Director

BEHIND THE SCENES - BUILDING A MUSEUM
The museum is busy providing lots of holiday programming in the month of December, and the blog takes readers behind the scenes on what it takes to pull it all off. Read about how many people are involved in putting together Kringleville and then get to know the Light Up The Town judges a little better!

Coming up later this month, meet one of the engineers helping to design the safety features of the new museum!

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Don't forget to visit the StoryWalk® at the North Street Community Connector Trail in Waterville! The walk features the story Daniel Finds a Poem by Micha Archer and is now a permanent part of the trail for all to enjoy anytime. Stay tuned, because it will be transforming again to another story soon!

StoryWalk®, made possible through a community partnership of the Waterville Public Library, Waterville Parks & Recreation, Waterville Creates, Children’s Discovery Museum, and the Colby College Civic Engagement and Community Partnerships Program along with financial support from the Mollusca Fund, Waterville Area Women’s Club, and other anonymous donors, promotes reading, movement, relationships, outside time, and exploration.
