August 9, 2018, 5:30 PM6:30 PM

Free

Lawrence (Larry) Dodge III of the Waterville Public Library, will be presenting about a pioneer and businessman Asa Redington. His lecture is the story of how an orphan helped win independence, served George Washington, and helped shape a community.

Lawrence (Larry) Dodge III was born and raised in Waterville. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1988. He then attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and graduated with a BA in History, 1996 and then a Master’s Degree in Education Instructional/Program Development in 2000. Larry had worked as a historical interpreter for the Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, MA for five years. After moving back to Waterville, he started working part time at the Waterville Public Library in 2013 and accepted the full-time position of Head of Patron Services in 2015. Larry has been a valuable asset of information and research to us here at the Historical Society and we are excited for him to share from his research into Asa Redington our museum’s namesake.
