An emeritus professor and dean from Colby College, Earl Smith has written three novels -- The Dam Committee and More Dam Trouble, both of which are set in present-day Belgrade, and his latest, Head of Falls, set in the 1950s in the now vanished neighborhood at the base of Temple Street in Waterville. Smith will speak about his books and sign copies, which will be for sale at the event.
