Beginner Wheel-Throwing Clay Class

Announcing the return of our popular, fun and relaxing beginner wheel-throwing class! Learn about clay, wheel-throwing techniques, wedging, trimming, reclaiming clay, making function pottery, and the basic process of glazing and firing. This five-week adult class includes weekly demonstrations, group and individual instruction, and critiques of finished pieces.

This is a beginner wheel-throwing class.  NO prior experience on the pottery wheel is needed.  Students can expect to learn the very basics of creating pottery on the wheel and at the end of the five-week session leave with a few finished ceramic pieces.

The fee for this five-week session is $175 and includes group and individualized instruction, use of studio tools and equipment, glazes, firing, opportunities for open studio time, and 25 lbs. of cone six clay. More clay can be purchased at the studio.

The class meets Mondays, February 6 - March 13, 5:30  – 7:30 p.m., except on February 20 (Presidents Day).
