Beginning Pottery Class

June 6, 2018, 5:30 PM7:30 PM

Our six-week pottery class will teach students the basics of throwing clay on the wheel. The class will start with learning clay basics and expand to cover creating mugs, bowls, plates, and other objects based on student interest. Skills that will be covered include: centering, shaping, trimming, handle making, and decorating/glazing. Students will also assist with loading of the kilns to understand the process. The instructor will work actively with each student as they navigate all the basic aspects of wheel throwing.

Each class is limited to 6 students, so each student may have a dedicated wheel. No experience is necessary. Class meets Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., June 6 – July 18, except no class on July 4. Registration is required. The course fee is $175.
