Central Maine Tech Night

February 8, 2018, 5:00 PM7:00 PM

Free

This month’s Tech Talk is “Improving Internet Infrastructure in Maine,” by Jim Troutman, consultant and agitator at large for NNENIX. The presentation will provide an overview of the technology behind how the Internet works. It will also show how your organization could benefit from increased Internet performance, better resiliency, and reduce your vendor lock-in by connecting to NNENIX, your local non-profit Internet Exchange Point (IXP). Joining an IXP can reduce your Internet bandwidth costs and allows you to literally route around any future Net Neutrality issues by purchasing your own BGP ASN and IP addresses.

Come learn how all of this isn’t as hard or expensive to implement as you might think!

Central Maine Tech Night is presented by Central Maine Growth Council and sponsored by CGI.
