Citizens Climate Lobby- A Climate Solution for Everyone – And You Can Help

February 22, 2017, 6:30 PM8:30 PM

Free

A presentation by Peter Garrett

In a political climate that seems to be taking us backwards environmentally, there is hope for finding a solution for what is arguably our most serious global environmental challenge.   Peter Garrett, Citizens Climate Lobby coordinator for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, will give a presentation on Citizens Climate Lobby's persuasive methods of connecting with all Members of Congress. These include relationship building with staff; careful listening; and presentation of a proposal acceptable to Republicans and Democrats, called Carbon Fee & Dividend.   This fee will result in the pricing of carbon fuels to reflect their actual costs to our health and the environment. It will also encourage industrial innovators to reduce the carbon footprint of everything we do.  The goal of this citizens’ activist group is to work with Congress to pass legislation that will reduce carbon emissions while stimulating the economy.    Find out about how Citizens Climate Lobby’s non-partisan methods can serve as a model for finding solutions we all can live with – and how you can be involved if you are so inclined.
