Empty Bowls

$8 – $10A tradition that mixes caring, cuisine, and craftsmanship returns this week with the annual Empty Bowls fundraising dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Messalonskee High School cafeteria.
The dinner, which raises funds for area food banks, occurs on the second night of the spring play, which this year features Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
Cost for the dinner is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, but that price includes an assortment of homemade soups, salad, Panera bread, and desserts – plus, diners get to keep the ceramic bowl they choose for their soup.
