Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

March 28, 2017, 7:15 PM

$5 – $10

Introduced by and with discussion after with Dr. Erika Nyhus, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Psychology at Bowdoin College and founder of the Nyhus Memory Lab.

Perhaps the loopiest rom com ever made; perhaps the most romantic science fiction movie made, perhaps just its own one-of-a-kind self, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, follows the courtship, dissolution and re-finding of each other of a quirky couple who hire a shadowy agency to erase each other from each other’s minds—only to find that they truly can’t forget each other. Starring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Tom Wilkinson, Mark Ruffalo, Elijah Wood and Kirsten Dunst, Sunshine won its inimitable writer, Charlie Kaufman, a much deserved Oscar (and earned Winslet a Best Actress nomination too…) (R, 2004, 108 min.)

Tickets are $10, $5 for students and Maine Film Center Members.
