Gender and Resistance: An Evening with Jennifer Finney Boylan

Author, activist, and teacher Jenny Boylan will talk about the LGBTQ experience and the current political climate from her position as a writer for the New York Times op-ed page and as co-chair of the media advocacy nonprofit GLAAD. Author of the first bestselling work by a transgender American, She’s Not There, Boylan is also a longtime member of the Colby community, where she taught in the English Department for 25 years and is currently a special advisor to President Greene. Each spring she serves as the inaugural Anna Quindlen Writer in Residence and professor of English at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York.
