Lisa Wheeler - Gelatin Prints

We are thrilled to have artist, teacher, and friend, Lisa Wheeler, joining us on Friday May 8 via Facebook to demonstrate the process of gelatin printing. Gelatin printing is a low-tech, non-toxic, versatile, experimental hand printing process. Artists of all ages can create colorful monoprints* using various layering colors and patterns.  Lisa will also provide viewers with a recipe to make gelatin for future use.

Lisa F. Wheeler is a printmaker, teaching artist, and art teacher who loves sharing the art making experience with others. Lisa was a 2015 J. Robinson Trust Scholarship Award Winner at Circling the Square Press in Gardiner, ME. She has exhibited her prints in solo and group shows throughout central Maine, received awards for her work, and she is represented in corporate and private collections in Maine.

*Monoprint is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking, which allows for multiple originals.

To join us via Facebook on Friday May 8th to see Lisa demonstrate how gelatin printmaking works! Just follow this link: https://www.facebook.com/CommonStreetArts/
