Kennebec Montessori School (KMS), Maine’s oldest Montessori school, promotes curiosity and exploration through experiential learning for children ages 3 – 12. KMS serves over 100 children, offering preschool, kindergarten, and elementary programs. We work to support the needs of the whole child; social, emotional, and cognitive. We embrace the opportunity to guide children academically on their unique paths as lifelong learners.
A few highlights:
- Our Primary Classrooms serve children ages 3-6, comprising both preschool and the Extended Day (Kindergarten) year.
- Our Lower Elementary program serves Grades 1-3, while Upper Elementary serves Grades 4-6.
- Our Enrichment Curriculum includes, Art, Music, Outdoor Classroom, Fitness and Foreign Language.
- Before Care and Aftercare are also offered on-site.
Come explore the opportunity for your child and discover the Montessori approach. As the only non-denominational, alternative Elementary school in the greater Waterville area we support students from diverse backgrounds and widespread communities including Pittsfield, Unity, Skowhegan, Kingfield, Belgrade, China, Augusta and Dexter.
All are welcome to visit the school during open house and learn more about the Montessori approach to early childhood and elementary education. Prospective students and their parents will be able to explore the classrooms, try the hands-on materials, meet the teachers, and talk to current parents about their experience. Applications for 2020-2021 will be accepted beginning on March 14. Parents are also encouraged to schedule a classroom observation by calling 453-6055.
