My Name Is Andrea

March 18, 2023, 2:00 PM

Free

My Name Is Andrea is the story of controversial feminist writer and public intellectual Andrea Dworkin, who offered a revolutionary analysis of male supremacy with iconoclastic flair. Decades before #MeToo, Dworkin called out the pervasiveness of sexism and rape culture, and the ways it impacts every woman’s daily life. This documentary film, directed by Pratibha Parmar, uses both archival material and performances by actors Ashley Judd and recent Oscar nominee Andrea Riseborough.

This film deals with sensitive subjects, including sexual violence and domestic abuse. The screening will be followed by conversation with representatives of local domestic violence resources.
