Philharmonia Boston Strings, Snow Pond Youth Orchestra, and Maine Suzuki Students

November 4, 2017, 6:00 PM

Dinner at 6:00, Concert at 7:30.

Listen to the sounds of Boston right here in your backyard! Snow Pond Youth Symphony and Maine Suzuki Association students will play an exuberant rendition of Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major with the Philharmonia Boston Orchestra, conducted by Jinwook Park, who also conducts at Colby College.  Tchaikovsky’s lush Serenade for Strings and Arnold Schoenberg’s 20th-century Transfigured Night are also on the November 4 program. Treat yourself to an elegant evening and help inspire students ages 12 through high school in their quest for excellence!

Founded in 2013, the Philharmonia Boston Orchestra is composed of professional musicians from the Greater Boston area. By working hand in hand with young local musicians, they strive to create an environment that fosters the professional development of bright rising talents.  Only in its second year, Snow Pond Youth Symphony has greatly nurtured and inspired music students in central Maine.  Tony Antolini of Bowdoin College raves, “If one were to hear these players on the radio without seeing their ages, it would be startling to learn how young they were!”.  The combination of these two orchestras will certainly be exciting and memorable.

For more information to help support these remarkable young Maine musicians, contact Betsy Kobayashi at 621-4166 or pinelandsuzuki@gmail.com.  Visit philharmoniaboston.org and www.facebook.com/SnowPondYouthSymphony for more information.
