Readings from The River Rail: Occupy Colby

November 14, 2019, 5:00 PM

Free

A community gathering featuring author readings from The River Rail: Occupy Colby, a collaborative project in which students, faculty, and members of the extended Colby community investigate our climate crisis. Putting into dialogue the work of scientists and artists, novelists and activists, The River Rail: Occupy Colby reflects Colby’s strengths as an institution dedicated to interdisciplinary scholarship. Through poems, interviews, nonfiction essays, and drawings among other forms, the journal asks whether rigorous scientific investigation, humanistic inquiry, and artistic imagining might offer a response commensurate to the scale of environmental challenges. Produced by the Lunder Institute for American Art, the Colby College Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Rail.

Refreshments will be served; 21+ bring ID.
