Snow Pond Youth Symphony

May 6, 2018, 7:00 PM9:00 PM

Snow Pond Youth Symphony concludes its second successful year with a concert of music from long ago and today. Haydn was a very popular composer over 300 years ago, similar to John Williams, composer of music from the movies Star Wars , Harry Potter and many more! The students will play Symphony #44 , one of Haydn’s 106 symphonies. It is nicknamed “Mourning” because the second movement was played at his funeral, at his request. Steve Witkin, principal cellist of Colby Symphony, is featured as soloist on Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C major. Maestro Jinwook Park, also conductor of Colby Symphony, brings out the youthful energy, spark and warmth of the music and the young people in this small but mighty youth orchestra!

Free admission; donations requested.
