Sukkot Fundraiser

October 8, 2017, 11:45 AM1:45 PM

$5

The Waterville/Winslow Interfaith Council is working with Colby’s Jewish community to have a simple lunch fundraiser for the Interfaith Resource Fund. The IRF helps with heating oil, and other needs, for local citizens in need.

Where? Park in the Mary Low lot on Colby College campus. Look for a “tent without a top” on the lawn between Foss and Mary Low. The “tent” represents a booth for the Jewish feast of Sukkot. The booth represents a temporary structure that commemorates the years the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land.

What are we doing? We are offering bowls of vegetarian soup and bread for a suggested donation of $5. The soup can be eaten inside the booth or take-out is possible. We are doing this to increase funds in the Interfaith Resource Fund in anticipation of the upcoming heating season.
