Tea With Mattie Wadsworth

$1 – $3Mattie Wadsworth was an avid amateur entomologist who lived on a farm in Manchester, Maine during the years 1862 to 1943. She was a scientist in a time when women were not often welcomed into the fold. As an entomologist Mattie collected many insect specimens on her farm including a type specimen of a dragon fly. (A type specimen is the first one of its kind collected and identified.)
We will have our own Mattie (Serena Sanborn) join us to explore insects, both the collections in the museum, and along the trails outside! After, have a spot of iced tea in honor of Mattie with her adventurous spirit and love of learning.
Admission: $3 for adults, $1 for children.
