The Last Unicorn

May 13, 2015, 7:45 PM

$6 – $11

Screenings will be introduced by the author, Peter S. Beagle!

The Last Unicorn has charmed generations of kids — and adults — ever since Peter S. Beagle first published it in 1968. The charming animated film that was made in 1982 has become a long-lasting favorite despite not coming from the customary Disney stable. Mia Farrow voices the Unicorn, Alan Arkin her quest partner Schmendrick the Magician and Jeff Bridges the handsome Prince Lir in the story of a unicorn told she is the last of her kind from a riddle-speaking butterfly, and sets out to discover the truth. She is eventually joined on her quest by Schmendrick, a second-rate magician, and Molly Grue, a now middle-aged woman who dreamed all her life of seeing a unicorn. Their journey leads them far from home, all the way to the castle of King Haggard. G. 92 Min.
