The Last Waltz

August 9, 2018, 7:15 PM

$6.5 – $9.5

“No other concert film has ever expressed so fervently the erotic root of rock. Seeing it is the opposite of taking a trip down memory lane; it’s more like plunging into the belly of the beast” —Peter Rainer, New York Magazine

The greatest rock and roll movie ever? Well… if it ain’t, we’d like to know what is! Martin Scorsese’s spectacular film of The Band’s last concert — presented here in association with The Band’s current offshoot group, The Weight Band’s concert at the Waterville Opera House the following night — sure has a group of performers that tops even Woodstock’s: in addition to The Band, there’s Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Dr. John, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond, Ronnie Hawkins, The Staples Singers, plus poets Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Michael McClure! (PG, 117 min.)

One lucky audience member will win a pair of tickets to the August 10th The Weight Band concert at the Waterville Opera House!

Admission: $9.50 Adults; $7.50 Students, Seniors (ages 65+), and Soldiers; and $6.50 Children.
