In The Producers, the curtain rises on a washed-up Broadway producer, Max Bialystock and his nervous accountant, Leo Bloom. To ensure the show closes on opening night, they find the most offensive script possible (“Springtime for Hitler”), hire the worst director possible, and fill the stage with horrible actors.
