Theaster Gates on Land

The museum’s Lunder Institute for American Art is pleased to host an evening with inaugural distinguished artist Theaster Gates. Sharing his ongoing artistic endeavors on questions of land ownership, displacement, and miscegenation, Gates will reflect on how his practice has explored aspects of Maine’s history. A conversation between Gates and Maine-based artists Daniel Minter and Myron Beasley will follow the talk, facilitated by Lee Glazer, director of the Lunder Institute.
