About Waterville Rocks!
Waterville Rocks! is a free, family-friendly concert series held in downtown Waterville’s Castonguay Square (in the event of rain, the concerts will be held inside the Waterville Opera House). Established in 2016 by local business leaders and arts-focused organizations, Waterville Rocks! has become an annual community celebration of all-things-music held in the great outdoors. Highlights include a beer garden, outdoor dining at The Proper Pig, free art activities, and the ice cream truck from Stone Fox Creamery!

All Waterville Rocks! concerts are held on Fridays at 5:30pm. In the event of rain, the concerts will be held inside the Waterville Opera House.

Provided that the concert for Waterville Rocks! is outside, a FREE art project from Common Street Arts will be available from 5-7pm: Sidewalk Chalk Art! 5-7pm.  The Beer Garden opens at 5:30pm and the concert starts at 6:00pm.

ENTER THE HAGGIS
For the better part of two decades, Toronto’s Enter The Haggis has combined bagpipes and fiddles with a rock rhythm section to create a distinctively eclectic sound, praised by The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and Canada’s Globe and Mail. Their songs offer singalong melodies and deep, meaningful lyrics which tell the stories of everyday hard working people, often faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. Signature songs like “One Last Drink”, “Gasoline”, “Down With The Ship” and “Lancaster Gate” have had hundreds of thousands of plays on social media, appeared in Hollywood movies, and have been performed and recorded by artists around the world.
Enter The Haggis is clearly comfortable on the stage and develops an easy rapport with audiences, sharing the stories behind their songs and laughing through tour anecdotes. The show is exciting and dynamic, featuring unpredictable and spontaneous moments. One song might feature drummer Bruce McCarthy taking a drum solo on Trevor Lewington’s guitar strings, while the next song breaks down into a fierce battle between fiddle and harmonica. Sometimes during an encore, the band will leave the stage entirely to perform acoustically standing on chairs in the audience.

TRICKY BRITCHES
Raised in Maine, cured on street corners and next to woodstoves, string-band Tricky Britches is a unique culmination of country, contra-dance, bluegrass, and rock. They’ve played festivals and concerts across the US, Europe, and Hawaii, always being shaped by those places, and using those experiences to inspire their original music.
Tricky Britches formed in 2009, when four friends in Portland, Maine, took their fiddle tunes and country songs on the road across the US. Since then they have released three albums of original material: Comin’ in Hot (2016), Good Company (2013), and Hard Fought Day(2011). They have played on stages big and small across the US, Hawaii, and Europe, but at the end of the day, their favorite show is still on a crowded street corner at midnight.
