DESCRIPTION:Dates: March 5–7\, 2026 \nOrganization: Colby Music \nVenue: Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts\, Colby College \nFree \nComing to Colby from March 5 to March 7\, 2026\, SPLICE Festival VII is a three-day festival that blends engaging live performances with new technologies. Composers\, performers\, and composer/performers gather for a weekend of concerts and presentations covering topics such as aesthetics\, technology\, and issues of performance practice\, with the goal of inspiring\, educating\, and sharing information amongst the attendees and the students at the host institution. SPLICE Festival is designed to foster community and to create bonds between performers and composers dedicated to music that involves dynamic\, live performance with technology. \nSPLICE Festival will include five concerts\, along with presentations and hands-on workshop sessions. Concerts will feature performances selected from submitted works and a curated concert by the SPLICE Ensemble in partnership with the Portland Ballet. \nPresentations and workshops are open to Colby College students\, festival attendees\, and the general community of Waterville. DESCRIPTION:Join Farmington-based ceramic artist Cherie Giampietro for a six-week beginner class designed to teach and enhance fundamental wheel-thrown and hand-building techniques. Discover how these methods can be used both individually and in combination to create distinct and unique pieces. Throughout the course\, you will work on projects such as an altered mug\, a connected vase\, a plate\, and an altered bowl. \nThe class registration fee includes all necessary tools\, materials\, 25 pounds of clay\, glazes\, and firings. Students can access the studio outside of class during open studio hours. \nThe class continues on Fridays through April 10. \nAge: Adults and Teens 16+\nLimit: 12 participants\nCost: $181.
