Carly Glovinski has generated a group of works for a two-part exhibition that will be shown concurrently at the Colby Museum and the Waterville Public Library. This event is cancelled After a brief exploration of the museum, we will read a children’s book related to the month’s theme — in March it will be “Animals all Around.” Afterward, preschoolers, toddlers, and their grownups will visit the Mirken Education Classroom to have a snack and create their own works of art. Recommended for ages 3+ and their caregivers. Location: William D. Adams Gallery, Colby Museum of Art.

“Standing Figure (Proud Oriental Figure)” is a sculpture made of terracotta, a type of ceramic, and the Eagle yoga pose alludes to its physical form. To create the yoga pose, one must sculpt one’s own body, moulding oneself into an upright posture by crossing arms and legs while standing.
