Children’s Book Week is April 30 – May 6!

Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Launched in 1919, Children’s Book Week will commemorate its 99th anniversary in May 2018. It is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Are you a Children's Book Champion? Show your support for the transformative power of literacy by posting a photo of yourself holding your favorite children's book on the Waterville Public Library Facebook page!

StoryCorps in Waterville

StoryCorps is a national organization with a mission to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. As part of the Library's 2017 Institute for Museum and Library Services National Medal win, StoryCorps visited Waterville and recorded stories of people in our community. The Sanborn family were some of the participants. StoryCorps provided a 3 minute excerpt of the hysterical and heartwarming Sanborn family story. Listen below.

Support Your Library!

The Library depends upon donor support to offer programs like Rhymetime and other early-reader initiatives that build community and nurture young minds. Please help to support and celebrate our young readers and the caring people and programs that provide the foundation for a lifelong love of reading. When you make a gift to the Waterville Public Library, you are truly making a difference in a young person’s life. Few gifts are more important, longer lasting, and more life-changing than the gift of reading Please consider being a Waterville Public Library donor this spring!
