Winslow Public Library Reopens

Good news! In accordance with state health guidelines, Winslow Public Library has reopened to the public. To ensure your continued health and safety and that of our staff, there will be certain restrictions on our level of access and services, including:

  • A limited number of patrons will be allowed in the library at one time. We will let patrons in and out to control the number of people in the building.
  • The flow of patrons will be separated through the use of separate entrance and exit doors at the front of the library. Patrons may ring the doorbell if there is no line outside the library.
  • Patrons will be required to wear a mask within the library.
  • Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult, as outlined in our policies.

Good news! After reopening to the public on a limited basis on July 20, Winslow Public Library is further adjusting our hours to allow longer in-person usage of the library. Starting now, patrons will be able to stay in the library up to 45 minutes, and on the computer for 35 minutes.

New Library Hours

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday—Curbside Service Only, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (More detail below.)
  • Closed Saturdays and Sundays

We recognize that many of our patrons are in a high risk category and are still being advised to avoid public spaces. To accommodate these patrons’ needs, we will be resuming curbside pick-up on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

How Wednesday curbside pick-up will work:

  • The building will be closed to the public on Wednesdays, so we can provide curbside pick-up on Wednesdays. Patrons must enter the building on other weekdays to pick-up items.
  • Patrons can request items through our online catalog, then email or call us to let us know you would like to pick-up the items on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Patron may also call us with requests if they do not have access to a computer or smartphone.
  • We ask that patrons be patient as we process your requests. You may to wait a while before we contact you after a request.
  • Patrons can request books, DVDs and audio books, or to renew items you currently have out.
  • If the items you are requesting are available, the staff will find the items, and check them out to you.
  • We will then contact you to let you know you can pick-up your materials on Wednesday.
  • When you get to the library, ring the doorbell or call us from your cell phone. We will come to the door and ask your name.
  • Once we know who you are, step back at least 6-feet from the door and we will leave your books on top of the book-drop for you to take.
  • All materials can be returned via the book drop.
  • Inter-library loans are now available through the catalog and can be picked-up on Wednesdays the same as our materials.
