REM Board of Custodians Commitment Form

I will:

• Join REM, the Board and at least one other team on the REM website at www.rem1.org:
• Arrange to attend a REM Welcoming and Orientation event.
• Attend Board meetings unless physically or emotionally unable to do so. (No regular Board meetings are held in the months of July or August.)
• Notify REM of your inability to attend a meeting in advance of the meeting.
• Review the agenda and supporting materials prior to Board and team meetings.
• Assist in fund-raising activities designed by the Board as a Board project
• Remain informed about REM’s mission, services, and policies.
• Promote REM by acting as an Ambassador, encouraging new membership, sharing information about REM’s philosophy and accomplishments and constantly inviting community participation in REM events.
• Provide support and advice to the Executive Directors and office staff.
• Suggest nominees and participate in board recruitment.

• Participate in any educational or board development meeting, workshop or retreat planned by the board.

I commit that I will uphold these duties and that I shall do my utmost to ensure that REM performs its mission and achieves its goals.
