Vernal Pools Evening Walk
April 28, 2017, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
An event every week that begins at 7:30 PM on Friday, repeating until May 5, 2017
Many do not know about the term “Big Night,” which is when the first amphibians wake up during spring to migrate to breeding spots on one rainy warm evening in spring. It is an exciting time to go walking at night! Come join us for one of these walks in which we will learn the common frogs and salamanders that have emerged from their long winter nap. Hear the lovely calls of our earliest spring frogs in our Maine forest! Please bring a flashlight and wear boots.
Please call or email us to register for a Vernal Pool Walk! We want to make sure the walks are not making a huge impact on the lovely pool near the museum and that our visitors have a great experience. These fill up fast, so REGISTER NOW! For all other programs visitors do not need a reservation to participate unless otherwise noted.
