Conserving Natural History and Organic Collections

$10 – $25Conservator Ron Harvey will present a Maine Archives & Museums (MAM) workshop on conservation and care of collections. Whether you are from a museum or have family treasures you need to preserve, this workshop will be of interest to you. If you would like the conservator to offer information about preserving a specific object, you are encouraged bring photos of object. The workshop is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The workshop also celebrates 20 years of conservation at the L.C.Bates Museum. The museum has worked with conservator Ron Harvey through IMLS support to preserve the museum historic dioramas and collections. From MAP and CAP assessments to MFA grant support, the museum has been fortunate to be able to preserve its historic exhibits and scientifically and educationally important collections. The workshop will end with a short tour of the preserved Charles D. Hubbard dioramas lead by Ron Harvey.
