Ruckus Roundtable: Wom*n in STEM
March 16, 2021, 7:00 PM
Women are often erased from history and the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field is no different. Join us via Zoom on Tuesday, March 16th at 7 PM (EST) to hear from brilliant g*rls and wome*n in STEM in Maine. This month we're also screening the documentary Picture a Scientist.
Film synopsis: Biologist Nancy Hopkins and chemist Raychelle Burks lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we encounter scientific luminaries - including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists - who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.
