Celebrate Cats: Art in the Park and Art Kits for All
June 24, 2021, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
FreeCelebrate Adopt-a-Cat Month with the Waterville Area Humane Society, the Waterville Public Library, and Waterville Creates. We will create vibrant cat portraits inspired by works by Laurel Burch using tempera sticks, markers, and more. We will also make ball toys to donate to the cats at the Waterville Area Humane Society and enjoy a reading of Tale of Tiger Slippers by Jan Brett.
Additionally, this month’s art kit, Make a Cat Toy, is inspired by National Adopt a Cat Month. The Waterville Area Humane Society will be in attendance with adoptable cats and kittens while we distribute the kits! Once you have made the toy, you can always donate it to the cats at the Humane Society, especially if you don’t have a cat of your own. Many kits will come with a copy of My Cat, Coon Cat by Sandy Ferguson Fuller.
