|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 PM on Sunday, repeating until September 22, 2019

This program delves into themes of industry, waterways, and the environment, with conversation in the galleries and on the Messalonskee River. We’ll begin at the museum with a guided gallery experience, followed by a light lunch, before proceeding to the canoe launch site. The 2½-hour canoe trip will be guided by Ryan Linehan, associate director of campus life and director of outdoor education at Colby.

This program is designed for ages 18+, but children ages 7+ may attend if accompanied by an adult. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required; online registration begins Mon., Sept. 9 for the Sept. 15 program and Mon., Sept. 16 for the Sept. 22 program.

This trip requires mild to medium exertion; participants should be comfortable with river/water environments. This trip will paddle two miles on flat water.

This program is part of the museum’s wellness initiative, Let the Art Inspire, which includes a variety of programs that connect mind, body, and art in innovative ways.

Location: William D. Adams Gallery, Colby Museum of Art.
