FreePamela Fletcher, professor of art history at Bowdoin, will speak about the commercial and cultural environment in which James McNeill Whistler's work circulated. Fletcher teaches courses on British art and exhibition culture and coedited the book The Rise of the Modern Art Market in London, 1850-1939.
