Two Showings, both on August 27, at noon and 3:00 p.m.

A grumpy ogre whose swamp is threatened by the king embarks on an adventure (accompanied by his talkative sidekick Donkey) to get his land back and rescue the beautiful princess Fiona. Shrek defied expectations back when it was first released in 2001– an ugly ogre instead of a handsome prince as the main character? But it almost immediately became a smash at the box office, won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and began its journey to become a franchise and a cult classic. A self-aware comic fantasy, Shrek crackles with brash humor with the voices of Mike Meyers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz.

(PG, 90 min., 2001)

Tickets go on sale August 21. This film is eligible for theYouth Arts Access Fund. Call the Box Office at 873-7000 on or after August 21 to obtain YAAF tickets.
