The Woman’s Film (1971)
March 9, 2021, 6:30 PM
We continue to be inspired by remarkable artistic and creative endeavors across the country and around the world. While we are not able to travel far-and-wide during the pandemic, we are pleased to be able to share these initiatives virtually. Our ARTS WATCH segment spotlights some of the most fascinating, creative, and thought-provoking artists + projects happening today. This week we feature "The Woman's Film," streaming March 5-9, with a discussion on March 9.
"In 1971, the Women’s Caucus of San Francisco Newsreel made this groundbreaking film about the start of the second feminist wave- with women across class and race speaking out. Watch the film and hear from two of the women filmmakers, Louise Alaimo and Judith Smith about the making of the film and filmmaker/women’s studies scholar Kathe Sandler (A Question of Color) and others."
