SUMMARY:The Wooten Brothers
DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday\, June 27 at 8pm \nVenue: Waterville Opera House \nOrganization: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \nThe Wooten brothers’ first public performance occurred in Hawaii in 1966 and established their identity as prodigies. Since then\, Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers (brothers Regi\, Roy\, and Jospeh) have racked up 10 Grammy wins\, and 26\, yes\, 26 Grammy nominations. And the youngest of the family\, Victor\, the brother who learned from all his older brothers\, has been named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the ten greatest bass players of all time. \nAs a family band\, they are second to none. The Brothers' music bends and defines genres\, amplifies centuries\, and spans continents. The Wooten Brothers began in R&B before evolving as teens into jazz\, jazz fusion\, classical\, and country. Then\, they emerged in 1985 on Arista records with an album called The Wootens that combined electronic\, funk\, soul\, disco\, and Boogie—and offered only a sliver of the Wooten whole. The Wooten whole is all of that…and classical\, and jazz\, and country\, and rock-and-roll. \nConnecting a musically deep past to musical future\, the Wooten Brothers explode genres and build bridges across genres. Bar by bar\, in live performances and on recordings\, they provide an exhilarating ‘connects-you-to-the-center-of-the-universe’ sound. \nTICKETS + INFO

SUMMARY:Béla Fleck\, Edmar Castañeda & Antonio Sánchez
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, June 30 at 7:30pm \nOrganization: Waterville Opera House \nVenue: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \nBanjo. Drums. Harp. Huh? \nTo be sure\, the new all-star trio of Béla Fleck\, harpist Edmar Castañeda\, and drummer Antonio Sánchez features instrumentation that might safely be called uncommon. Unless\, of course\, you’re already familiar with 19-time Grammy-winner Fleck—the genre-blurring virtuoso who has done more to expand the possibilities of the banjo than any other player in the instrument’s history. Fleck’s work never fails to surprise. \nWhat doesn’t surprise is the impeccable caliber of his collaborators. The harpist\, Castañeda\, hails from Bogotá\, Colombia\, and has led his own bands in addition to sharing projects with such masters as Hiromi\, Paquito D’Rivera\, and Grégoire Maret. Five-time Grammy-winner Sánchez grew up in Mexico City and built a reputation as one of the great jazz drummers through his work with guitarist Pat Metheny. He’s also been a visionary bandleader\, helming progressive groups like Bad Hombre\, and collaborated with Chick Corea\, Gary Burton\, Charlie Haden\, Michael Brecker\, and other giants. \nPlaying original repertoire\, much of it collaboratively written\, this trio embarks nightly on fearless explorations that audiences will find irresistible—rich with strong melodies\, gorgeous harmony\, and grooves that twist and turn while feeling fantastic.\nTICKETS + INFO

SUMMARY:The High Kings
DESCRIPTION:Rocky Road Tour\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nDate: Thursday\, July 9 at 7:30pm \nOrganization: Waterville Opera House \nVenue: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \n\nAs global ambassadors of Irish heritage and storytelling\, The High Kings have consistently brought the timeless tradition of folk music to audiences worldwide\, earning them chart-topping success and widespread acclaim. With their signature blend of classic tradition and modern edge\, The Rocky Road Tour promises to be a vibrant showcase of Irish culture\, energy\, and musicality. \nFollowing a record-breaking 2024\, the band are showing no signs of slowing down. Their momentum continued in 2025 with a string of sold-out U.S. tour dates\, culminating in a headline performance at the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles. But it was their inclusion on the Oscar-winning soundtrack of Sinners—starring Michael B. Jordan and directed by Ryan Coogler—that marked a defining moment in their global recognition. The film’s soundtrack was curated by Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer\, Black Panther)\, a long-time admirer of The High Kings’ distinctive vocal blend and musicianship. After attending their sold-out show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles earlier this year\, Göransson selected two tracks—“The Rocky Road to Dublin” and “Go Lassie Go”—to feature prominently in the film’s score. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS + INFO
