SUMMARY:Graham Nash
DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, September 20 at 7:30pm \nVenue: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \n"There are concerts. And then there are musical events that come across as transcendent experiences\, celebrations of songs and sounds and stories that have endured for good reason\, live shows that enter the space of the sacred.”\n- Miers on Music (2025) \n"Graham Nash proved why he is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. With his career spanning sixty years\, his songs are just as relevant today as they were decades ago... The man has nothing to prove\, yet he does it every time he sets foot on stage."\n- North Coast Music Beat (2025) \nGraham Nash will perform a career-spanning retrospective of his six decades of contributions to contemporary music. Joined by Todd Caldwell (keyboards)\, Adam Minkoff (bass\, drums\, guitar\, and vocals)\, and Zack Djanikian (guitar\, bass\, drums\, and vocals)\, Nash will take the audience on a musical journey that encompasses his years with The Hollies\, CSN\, CSNY\, and his beloved solo efforts. \nAbout Graham Nash \nNash is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee\, with Crosby\, Stills\, and Nash\, and with the Hollies. He was also inducted twice into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame\, as a solo artist and with CSN\, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner. \nTowering above virtually everything that Graham Nash has accomplished in his multi-faceted career stands the litany of songs that he has written and introduced to the soundtrack of the past half-century. His remarkable body of work\, beginning with his contributions to the Hollies opus\, including “On a Carousel” and “Carrie Anne\,” continues all the way to Now (2023)\, his most recent solo album. \nThe original classic union of Crosby\, Stills & Nash (& Young) lasted but twenty months. Yet their songs are lightning rods embedded in our DNA\, starting with Nash’s “Marrakesh Express\,” and “Lady of the Island\,” from the first Crosby\, Stills & Nash LP (1969)\, and “Teach Your Children” and “Our House” on CSNY’s Déjà Vu (1970). \nNash’s solo career debuted with Songs For Beginners (1971)\, which included “ChicagoWe Can Change the World” and “Military Madness” and others. In addition to his string of solo albums\, he has performed and recorded with David Crosby as CrosbyNash. Their eponymously titled /Graham NashDavid Crosby (1972) is bookended by Nash’s “Southbound Train” and “Immigration Man”. \nTICKETS + INFO

SUMMARY:Tusk: The Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, October 9 at 8pm \nOrganization: Waterville Opera House \nVenue: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \nTusk: The World’s #1 Tribute to Fleetwood Mac \nTusk has been criss-crossing the country since 2008 as The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute. But of all the Fleetwood Mac tributes playing around the United States today\, what exactly sets Tusk apart? Is it more than five skilled professionals turned masters of their trade through decades of individual musical study\, live performance\, creative risk\, and devotion to the art? Is it more than their affection and respect for the Fleetwood Mac experience\, an entity that continues to endure over 50 years of musical and cultural evolution? Is it more than vocal similarities\, common physical traits\, or good costumes? To be sure\, one does not fare well in the tribute scene without displaying some or all of these characteristics. So what qualities does Tusk possess that can’t be learned\, bought\, or created simply from a desire to have them? Chemistry. Synergy. Intuition. \nThe relationship among the five founding members of Tusk has a rich history that goes back more than four decades. Two met while playing Little League baseball. Two others met in middle school band and marched in lockstep through high school. All five have been playing music with one another over the years in various configurations of original bands\, jam bands\, singer-songwriter circles\, and alternative rock groups. Time\, trust\, and close friendship have cultivated an intimate familiarity with each other’s musical nuances\, shaping each performance with such precision that even the slightest variation\, virtually imperceptible to all but the five musicians sharing the stage\, is met with a wink and a nod\, and usually an inside joke. Tusk is more than a band; they are a family. \nTICKETS + INFO

SUMMARY:Cirque Kalabanté- WOW-World of Words
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, October 20\, 2026 at 7pm \nVenue: Waterville Opera House\, 1 Common Street\, Waterville\, Maine \nOrganization: Waterville Opera House \nThis event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. \nGet ready for a vibrant stage experience that transcends language itself! WOW (World of Words) is more than a show — it’s an encounter\, a bridge between two worlds. \nImagine a stage where ancestral African wisdom captivates the audience. Separated by a symbolic line\, one group shares its knowledge through powerful storytelling\, hypnotic songs\, and ritual initiation\, while the other receives and learns — sometimes with fear\, sometimes in resistance. \nThe exchange begins with the obstacle of spoken language\, quickly overtaken by the universal force of gesture\, rhythm\, and sound. The set and its ropes become a language of their own: double Dutch skipping\, bungee straps\, and rope-based contortion turn into pathways of communication\, pulsing with dialogue. Three guiding figures — Trust (W)\, Respect (O)\, and Wisdom (W) lead the journey. \nThrough acrobatic contact and moments of mutual support\, the dividing line fades. Bodies merge\, blending tradition with contemporary movement. The finale erupts into a choreography of unity and collective awakening: the journey itself becomes a revelation. \nTICKETS + INFO

Celebrated by The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and The Recording Academy/GRAMMYs with Lifetime Achievement Awards\, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame\, and winners of six GRAMMY Awards\, they have attained the highest levels of achievement in a career that spans over 70 years. The Blind Boys are known for crossing multiple musical boundaries with their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by songwriters such as Eric Clapton\, Prince\, and Tom Waits. They have appeared on recordings with many artists\, including Lou Reed\, Peter Gabriel\, Bonnie Raitt\, Willie Nelson\, Aaron Neville\, Susan Tedeschi\, Ben Harper\, Patty Griffin\, and Taj Mahal. \nThe Blind Boys released their latest album\, 'Echoes Of The South\,’ in August of 2023. It found the Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductees coming home to Alabama to record in Muscle Shoals. The eleven-song collection is a portrait of perseverance from a group well-versed in overcoming incredible odds - from singing for pocket change in the Jim Crow South to performing for three different American presidents\, soundtracking the Civil Rights movement\, and helping define modern gospel music as we know it. The album garnered three GRAMMY Award nominations\, and won for Best Roots Gospel Album. \nThat win continued a run of GRAMMY Award nominations from the two previous years. In 2021\, the group’s collaborative recording with Béla Fleck\, ‘I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free\,’ was tapped in the Best American Roots Performance category. In 2022\, they garnered another nod for their collaboration with the band Black Violin on 'The Message’ in the Best Americana Performance category. \nIn March 2024\, the definitive book on the Blind Boys of Alabama\, titled Spirit of the Century\, was released. It’s an insider history of America’s longest-running group and the untold story of their world\, written with band members and key musical colleagues. Appearances on The View tv show and other major media outlets followed. After all these years\, the Blind Boys show no signs of slowing down! \nTICKETS + INFO
