Back to Back to the Future

October 21, 2015, 7:00 PM

The future is NOW! When Back to the Future became a phenomenon in the ‘80s,  Back to the Future, Part II presented a look at a future 26 years from when it was first shown. Now it’s literally here: Oct. 21, 2015 was the date in the seemingly far distant future where Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly went to try to change the present…or past, depending on how you look at it. In this beautifully restored new digital print, you can see what director Robert Zemeckis and his crew got right, including omnipresent surveillance cameras and the primacy of Asia—and what they got wrong (anyone seen those flying cars yet?) as well as simply having the chance to experience in full theatrical 2015 majesty one of Hollywood’s most inventive and enjoyable fantasies. Today’s the day! Be there or you’ll be, y’know, left behind in the past! (PG. 108 Min.)
