Between the Lines: Much Ado About Nothing
April 22, 2018, 2:00 PM
FreeACAT is pleased to announce Between the Lines, a new play reading series presented in partnership with the Waterville Public Library and Waterville Creates! The play reading series complements ACAT’s main series of staged productions.
The inaugural season of Between the Lines consists of staged readings of four significant plays, the last of which is Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. Each reading followed by an open discussion between actors and audience. ADMISSION IS FREE!
By means of gossip, rumor and eavesdropping, the bickering Benedick and Beatrice are tricked into confessing their love for each other, and Claudio is tricked into rejecting Hero at the altar on the erroneous belief that she has been unfaithful. In the end, Benedick and Beatrice join forces to set things right and the others join in a dance celebrating the marriages of both couples. Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s most delightful comedies.
