Blessing of Animals
October 6, 2018, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
FreePlease come one, come all… with pets of all kinds (or no pets at all!) Rev. Kim Shrader, pastor of the Benton Falls and Winslow Congregational Churches, and Rev. Maureen Ausbrook, minister of visitation at the First Congregational Church in Waterville, will lead a blessing of the animals The Apple Farm in Fairfield.
It should be a wonderful day for young & old alike! Domestic pets of all kinds are welcome — dogs must be leashed — but farm animals and all of God’s other beautiful creatures will be included, present or not! There will be apples and cider and other treats for humans and our animal friends.
This events runs from noon till 2:00; the blessing will be at 1:00.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Humane Society of Waterville is struggling to avoid closure. The HSW is a No-Kill shelter serving many communities in the area; their closing would have terrible consequences. Any free-will offerings received at the Blessing of Animals will be donated to the HSW. A member of the HSW Board will attend, along with some of their sweet critters who will be blessed with the other animals.
*DIRECTIONS: The address is 104 Back Road, Fairfield. Follow Rte 104 which is also upper Main Street north out of Waterville or off exit 130 on the Interstate. Stay on 104 north for 8 miles then take a left onto the Back Road. The farm is on the right hand side of the road after exactly one mile. However, parking and the blessing of the animals is on the left
