KVCAP Third Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction
June 29, 2017
$100The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program's Explorer Bus System is continually growing in ridership and more money is needed to allow the service to keep up with demand. Toward this end the KVCAP 3rd Annual Golf Tournament and Silent Auction will be held on Thursday, June 29, at the Lakewood Golf Course in Madison. All of the proceeds will go to support the KVCAP public bus system.
The best news is that every dollar that is raised through this event will be matched dollar for dollar by federal funding. This doubles the impact of all contributions. KVCAP provided close to 98,000 rides on its Explorer system in 2016. Ridership has nearly tripled in five years. The funding for the system has NOT, however, increased. KVCAP wants to be able to maintain current routes and explore options for possible expansion. Afford-able, accessible, public transportation ensures that our community will be competitive and thriving in the years to come.
If you like to play golf and you’re interested in helping your less fortunate neighbors get around our community please consider participating in the tournament. The fees are $100 per player and include green fees and a golf cart, mulligans, strings skirts, lunch, award ceremony, gift bags, and great prizes. There is also the option to bid on silent auction items.
If you would like to register a team or donate an item for the silent auction please contact Andrea Pasco at andreap@kvcap.org or telephone 859-1630. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event should also get in touch with Andrea.
