Visions of the Universe
November 10, 2018, 1:00 PM
$1 – $3Join us for the opening of our small winter exhibit, Visions of the Universe, a series of illustrated posters charting 400 years of progress in astronomy. Beginning with Galileo’s mission to study celestial bodies in more detail, the series moves outward through the cosmos, outlining the milestone achievements of astronomers and inventors in understanding outer space. At the opening, we will have a guided tour of the exhibition, activities to learn space science, and a chance to try a Galileo scope.
Visions of the Universe: Four Centuries of Discovery was produced by the Space Telescope Science Institute, the American Library Association, and the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, through funding from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It has been given to the museum for exhibition and programming.
