Carnival of the Animals
March 12, 2017, 2:00 PM
$5 – $12Two performances: 2:00 p.m & 4:00 p.m.
Take a walk on the wild side with Pineland Suzuki Students and Snow Pond Community Music School for our Annual Benefit Concert! Students from 4 through 17 will be playing familiar classical pieces and some "pops" arrangements like “Hedwig's Theme,” with some fun surprises — braying donkeys? the whine of a mosquito? bawking chickens? See how many animals you and your children can identify!
Please plan to purchase your tickets online, as only a few tickets will be available at the door.
The 2:00 performance features young string players ages 3-18, with puppets and dancing. It is a joyful and humorous musical celebration of children’s friendship with animals.
In between the two concerts, at 3:00, there will be a reception with live chamber music, a silent auction, and an instrument petting zoo.
The 4:00 performance features the Capital Strings and the Snow Pond Youth Symphony, performing such pieces as Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens, “Spring” from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, highlights from the film Jurassic Park, fiddle tunes about animals, and much more!
Tickets cost $10 in advance for each concert ($12 at the door), $5 for students and seniors, and children under 6 are free.
