Draw With the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators
April 22, 2017, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
$1 – $3Come spend the afternoon sketching with Guild of Science Illustrators Maine at the L.C. Bates Museum, an early 20th-century natural history and cultural museum in Hinckley, Maine. The museum has 32 habitat dioramas, galleries of birds, mammals, marine life, insects, reptiles, and minerals, as well as hands-on educational exhibits. Also on the grounds of the museum is a forest arboretum with three miles of nature trails. There is something of interest for everyone to draw.
Bring your sketchbook, drawing materials, and if you'd like, examples of your artwork to share. In addition to sketching for ourselves, Guild members will be glad to answer questions about science illustration, materials and methods. All ages welcome!
The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators is a nonprofit organization founded to provide opportunities to meet, share ideas, and spread the knowledge of visual science techniques. To learn more about the Guild please visit www.gnsi.org.
