In 1990, 26 years before Donald Trump’s ascension to power, Joe Dante followed up his brilliant and truly hilarious hit Gremlins with Gremlins 2: The New Batch, in which the villain, a super-rich, super ruthless New York real estate tycoon named “Daniel Clamp” whose trademark is a globe in a vise(!), finds his high-tech skyscraper under attack from the anarchic Gremlins!
