University of Maine Singers in Concert

FreeThe University of Maine Singers is a 60-voice select choir whose members come from all disciplines across campus. Nearly half of its members are from areas outside of music. Under the direction of Francis John Vogt, the University Singers perform multiple concerts on campus throughout the academic year, tour New England for one week each spring, and perform abroad every four years.
The repertoire for this year’s tour concerts will include Latin motets from the 16th and 21st centuries, excerpts from Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, and the extended work for choir and piano “Come to the Woods” by contemporary composer Jake Runestad. The university’s premier a cappella groups, The Maine Steiners and Renaissance, will also perform.
