WATERVILLE, Maine – Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) presents its final production ever in Studio 93 with the comedy “You Can't Take It With You” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman.  Performances are October 26-27 and November 2-3 at 7:30 p.m., and October 28 and November 4 at 2:00 p.m., in Studio 93 at The Center, 93 Main Street, Waterville.

Kaufman and Hart’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “You Can’t Take It With You” premiered on Broadway in 1936 and was adapted as a film, winning Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director (Frank Capra).  An American classic, “You Can’t Take It With You” is one of the most popular and successful plays of all time.

At first, the Sycamores seem mad, but if they’re mad, the rest of the world is crazier. In contrast to the delightfully eccentric Sycamores are the unhappy Kirbys. Young Tony Kirby has fallen in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the clash between families convinces Alice that marriage is out of the question, but Tony will not give up. In the end, father Kirby is converted to the happy madness of the Sycamores and love triumphs.

Co-directed by Joe Klapatch and Michael Jinbo, the play features a large cast:  Doree Austin, David Germain, Daniel Giroux-Paré, Erik Hyatt, Jason Iannone, Stephanie Irwin, Ben Keene, Joe Klapatch, Margaret Matheson, Debbie Moon, Alicia Nicholls, James Paine, Nikki Porter, Henry Quintal, Wendi Richards, Andrew Smith, Jakob Sutton and Ben Turlo.

General admission tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for senior citizens (age 60 and older) and youth (age 18 and younger).  Tickets will be available at the door and can be reserved in advance through ACAT’s website.  For more information, visit ACAT at www.acattheatre.org and www.facebook.com/acattheatre.
