$6.50 – $9.50Film premiere tour with Q&A with director Michael Seebold and members of the Evening Crane Theatre to follow!
Enoptromancy, Or When We Meet As One, the cinematic feature debut of New York City-based theatre group Evening Crane Theatre, will play at Railroad Square Cinema on January 28, as part of the film’s east coast tour of select theatres this winter. Set in the halls of a half-renovated castle, the film finds a fantastical cast of characters gathered for the funeral dinner of an old friend.
Assembled at table are the hostess in mourning Violet, her loyal yet brooding Mastiff, the senescent and cryptic figure of Dust, the Songstress, the Duchess, the Ferrywoman, the Dead King Idleworth, and the evening’s punctilious attendant, Balthazar. By evening’s end, Violet and her guests find themselves unexpectedly confronted by a visage of the dead and several unnerving questions of fate.
Written, directed, and produced by Michael Seebold, Enoptromancy, Or When We Meet As One is a chamber film adapted from the stage play of the same name. The play originally premiered in spring 2018 in a stage production at Theatre 80 St. Marks Off-Broadway. In spring 2019, the play returned to the stage at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn, NY.
